Baggage
He keeps
thinking he’ll feel
differently if only he
had just a little more
time except for every
two steps forward,
he finds he is
at least a half
dozen still behind.
She’s comfortable
where she’s heading
and he hasn’t even yet
read the map.
She’s been playing
it on instincts adjusting
altitude when it
doesn’t feel right.
He’s not one to
venture into uncharted
territories or travel
just based on gut.
The travelogue is
splintered with the
destination unknown.
She’s continuing forward
while he wonders if
their journey has
reached its end.
